Thanksgiving History: Meal-Time Taditions

While Thanksgiving may have started out as a religious celebration, over the years it has lost most of its religious significance in American households. Instead of being a day devoted to religious warship it has become a day centered around family, friends, cooking and celebration. While the holiday has evolved over the years, the one tradition that remains the same is eating a bountiful meal and one food staple that has become synonymous with the holiday is Turkey. Road-Trip Games the Whole Family Will Love

While being cramped into a vehicle for hours on end isn't anyone's idea of a good time, many people find ways to combat the sheer boredom of being trapped in a car during long road-trips by playing games. If your vehicle doesn't come equipped with high-tech accessories, and your about to pull out your hair if you hear, "are we there yet" one more time, try playing one of these games. Don't worry, no accessories required.

1. I Spy: This iconic road-trip game has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. Not only will this game make the time fly by, but your kids, family or friends wont be able to stop finding creative new object to spy with their little eyes! All you have to do is find an object that the other people in the vehicle have to guess. While it may seem simple enough, the other players only clue to what the object might be is this phrase: "I spy with my little eye something that begins with (insert the first letter of the object's name)." Don't worry, this game will have your vehicles inhabitants occupied for hours.a

2. Tunnels: If "I Spy" isn't your family's cup-of-tea, then try this slightly more active game. For this game all the players need to hold their breath every time they pass under a tunnel. Whoever holds their breath wins. While this game is simple enough, the vehicles driver might want to pass on playing due to the possibility of becoming light headed. Other than that, have fun seeing who can hold their breath the longest!
